Alberta’s health care system is publicly funded and administered, providing Albertans with access to: doctor’s offices, walk-in clinics, pharmacies, hospitals and telephone consultations. To access these services, international students must have health insurance. Some academic institutions may provide medical insurance to their international students. Please contact your academic institution before purchasing medical insurance.
