Weather
The province of Alberta has four distinct seasons:
- Summer – from June to August
- Fall – from September to November
- Winter – from December to February
- Spring – from March to May
We enjoy each distinct season and the variety of life it offers. Our summers are filled with warm sunny days under big blues skies; winter is unique for the crisp clean air and the awesome spectacle of The Northern Lights; and spring arrives quickly, clearing the snow to make room for greenery and flower blossoms. What you've heard is true: Winter in Canada is sometimes cold. However, it is important to remember that vehicles and buildings are heated to comfortable temperatures. When you are outside, wearing one of our notorious Canadian winter hats, called "toques," will help keep your head warm.

Despite the cold, Alberta winters are usually dry, the sun is often shining, and the days are spectacularly bright. Alberta receives more days of sunshine than any other province in Canada.
